Recorded in the late '70's, this song features noted guitarist of the day, Fred Carter, Jr. I had a writer's contract with him at the time. He had played on sessions for everybody that was anybody in Nashville, and had also played sessions in other music centers, including Muscle Shoals, AL. Fred was an amazing guitarist and owned many top-end guitars, but he played a cheap Danelectro on this session, which was available at the time for less than $100. Some players came to love them for the unique tone they possessed as a result of their "lipstick-tube" pickups. Some of the vintage models are now high-end collectors items. This demo was done in Nugget Sound Studios in Goodlettsville, TN, which Fred owned at the time. It had previously been owned by the county music comedy duo of the day, Lonzo and Oscar.
